Can Ya Give a Guy a Hand?

As part of Joel's extensive testing last month, an IQ test was administered. We have always said that he's so hard to keep up with because he's smarter than the rest of us. Now we know. Without getting into specifics, his results were in the superior range.

However, Joel gets himself into all kinds of predicaments because his mind races far beyond his common sense. This is not to say that he doesn't have common sense, just that it's usually an afterthought.

The following incident happened when he was five. I have no idea what he was attempting to do, just that it seemed like a good idea at the time to him; and he was none too happy when my first reaction to his yelling, "I'M STUCK! I'M STUUUUUUUCK!" was to run and get the camera.

Some things are just too priceless not to document.

This is not at all an uncommon circumstance with him. By the way, I had to take that chair apart to free him.
Yep, the superior range.

  2. That is one of my all time favorite pictures from life in Texas. I remember that story like it happened last week!

By the way I had a nice chat with Joel on the phone when I called Mom Wednesday.
